Installation

This page walks you through adding Pave to your Shopify store, previewing it before going live, and what to expect on first install.

Add the theme to your store

  1. Sign in to the Shopify Theme Store and open the Pave listing.
  2. Choose Try theme to add Pave to your store as an unpublished theme.
  3. In your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes. Pave appears in the Theme library section.

Preview before publishing

Until you choose to publish, Pave runs in preview mode and is not visible to your customers.

  1. From Online Store > Themes, click Customize on Pave to open the theme editor.
  2. Use the device toolbar at the top of the editor to preview desktop, tablet, and mobile layouts.
  3. To share a preview link with stakeholders, click the menu next to the theme name and choose Share preview.

Duplicate before any code edit

Always duplicate your theme before making any code edits. From Online Store > Themes, click the menu next to Pave and choose Duplicate. Work on the copy. If anything goes wrong, your published theme is unaffected.

See Duplicate your theme for the full procedure.

Publish the theme

When you are ready to make Pave the live theme on your storefront:

  1. From Online Store > Themes, click the menu next to Pave.
  2. Choose Publish.
  3. Confirm the change. Pave is now your live theme.

What to expect on first install

  • Demo content does not transfer. The screenshots and demo content shown on the Theme Store listing are illustrative. Your store starts with your real products, collections, and content.
  • The chosen preset determines the initial look. Pave ships with one default preset. After publishing, the home page shows the bundled sections (hero, new arrivals, brand message, collection list, brand image, newsletter) ready for you to populate.
  • Sample text is left as defaults that you must edit. Default headings such as “Crafted with intention” or “ATELIER” are placeholders intended to be replaced with your own brand copy.

Pave works on every Shopify plan. To unlock the full feature set:
