New arrivals
New arrivals is a hand-picked product grid with a heading and an optional “View all” link. You choose the products yourself, one block each, up to six.
It can’t be placed in the header or footer groups. It is added with four Product blocks.
Settings
Content
- Heading. Default:
New arrivals. - View all label. Default:
View all. Leave empty to hide the link. - View all link. Where that link points, usually a collection. Left empty, it goes to the catalog of all products.
Products
- Columns on desktop. Range: 2 to 4. Default: 4.
- Columns on mobile. 1 column or 2 columns (default). Applies below 750px.
- Image ratio. Adapt to image, Portrait (3:4), Square (1:1) (default) or Landscape (4:3).
- Show vendor. Default: off.
- Show second image on hover. Shows the product’s alternate image when a shopper hovers the card. Default: on.
Colors
- Color scheme. Default: scheme-1.
Spacing
- Top padding / Bottom padding. Range: 0 to 300 px in 5 px steps. Default: 80 px each.
Blocks
Up to six Product blocks.
- Product. The product to show in this slot. Left empty, the block shows the product at the same position in your catalog of all products, so a fresh install shows real products rather than placeholders.
Tips
- Match the block count to the columns. Four products in four columns fill one clean row; five in four columns leaves an orphan.
- Choose the ratio for your photography, not for the grid. Portrait suits clothing on a model, square suits objects shot flat, and Adapt to image is the honest choice when your catalog isn’t shot consistently.
- Point “View all” somewhere real. If you don’t have a collection worth landing on, hide the link by clearing its label rather than sending shoppers to the whole catalog.
- Pick the products. Empty blocks fall back to your catalog order, which is not the same as your newest products, and picked products stay until you change them, so a “new arrivals” row goes stale unless you revisit it. If you’d rather it maintain itself, use a collection on the Collection page and link to it from the home page instead.
