Shoppable videos
Shoppable videos is a horizontal strip of short vertical clips, each paired with the product it shows. Under every clip sit the product’s title and price, linked to the product page. Shoppers scroll the strip with the arrows or a swipe.
It can’t be placed in the header or footer groups. The preset starts with three video blocks.
Settings
- Heading. Shown above the strip. Default:
Shop the video. - Play videos automatically. Default: off. When on, a clip plays muted while at least half of it is on screen and pauses when it scrolls away. It never plays on its own for shoppers who ask their device for reduced motion, and a clip the shopper paused stays paused.
- Color scheme. Default: scheme-1.
Spacing
- Top padding / Bottom padding. Range: 0 to 300 px in 5 px steps. Default: 60 px each.
Blocks
Video
- Video. The clip. A vertical (9:16) video works best. A block with no video shows nothing.
- Product. Optional. The product the clip features, shown under it.
The section shows nothing on the storefront until at least one block has a video.
How the clips load
Each clip shows its preview image and a play button. No video data is downloaded until a shopper presses play or, with automatic play on, until the clip scrolls into view. Clips always play without sound and loop, so choose footage that works silently.
Tips
- Keep clips short. Five to fifteen seconds of the product being worn or used is the format shoppers know from social video.
- Check each clip’s preview image. It is what shoppers see before anything plays, so it should show the product clearly.
- Pair every clip with a product. A clip without one is just a video; the product link is what makes the section shoppable.
